12 Jul 2023: On 24th April, Burbo Bank applied for a variation of their consent of Section 36C of the Electricity Act. Burbo Bank were seeking to install aerodynamic tip boosters to the end of each turbine blade, which will add 80cm to the diameter of each turbine. After consultation regarding the effect this may have on the risk of seabird collision, the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero had concluded that the alteration to the wind turbines are not likely to have a significant effect on the environment and would not constitute EIA development
