06 Sep 2024: Update (6 August 2024): Codling Wind Park has submitted an application for planning permission to An Bord Pleanála for the construction, operation and decommissioning of the Codling Wind Park Project. The planning application includes: • Two wind turbine design options, either installing 75 turbines with a rotor diameter of 250 m and blade tip height of 287.72 m, or 60 units with a rotor diameter of 276 m and blade tip height of 313.72 m. • Offshore transmission infrastructure consisting of three offshore substation structures and three 220 kV offshore export cables connecting the OSS to landfall at Poolbeg, Dublin 4. • Onshore transmission infrastructure will include onshore export cables routed underground from the landfall to a new onshore substation. • A ten-year planning permission, with an operational lifetime of 25 years. Update (29 August 2024): Codling Bank have stated they will apply for planning permission early next week. Update (16 May 2024): Extension of date by which application for Development Permission must be submitted from 18 months to 24 months. The Commencement Date was 23 December 2022 so new latest date for consent submission has moved from 23 June 2024 to 23 December 2024 Update (23 May 2024): Application as not yet been submitted. Update (December 2023): The developer is likely to apply for planning consent in early 2024. Update (September 2022): The project team plans to submit the consent application in the second half of 2023. Update (January 2022): The project team’s aim is to submit onshore and offshore planning applications to An Bord Pleanála in early 2023 . The onshore and offshore planning applications are expected to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála in late 2021 or early 2022, alongside a single Environmental Impact Assessment Report.
