30 Jul 2024: The Dutch government has changed the site decisions regarding the use of a acoustic deterrent devices (ADDs) for the installation of foundations for HKW VI and HKW VII. Site decisions VI and VII added a provision that an ADD does apply to the extent that an installation technique other than pile driving (continuous sound) is used. However, the permit holder may deviate from this if the ADD produces more noise than the installation technology to be used at the relevant frequencies or if a relevant expert justifies in the foundation plan, referred to in regulation 4, second paragraph, part e, that the measure as such does not contribute to the prevention of permanent effects on the hearing of porpoises.
