24 Jul 2024: Invenergy has asked the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to allow the pause of the Leading Light Project until 20 December 2024 due to difficulty in securing a turbine blade manufacturer. Invenergy initially planned to use GE Vernova's 18 MW turbines but, due to Vernova discontinuing work on these, this was no longer an option. Invenergy's fall-back plan was to use Siemens turbines, but an increase in cost made this not viable. During the pause, the company plans to move ahead with development activities including surveys and preparation of its construction and operations plan.
