04 May 2022: An application was submitted by ACCIONA ENERGIA GLOBAL ITALIA Srl, for the issue of a thirty year state owned maritime concession in the Southern Adriatic Sea, in the stretch of sea under the responsibility of the Capitaneria di port of Manfredonia, the Capitaneria di Molfetta and the Port Authority of Barletta in front of the municipalities of Molfetta, Giovinazzo, Trani and Bisceglie. The project consists of a floating offshore wind farm with 62 turbines, of 15 MW each, for a total power of 930 MW. The energy will be transported via two 500 kV HVDC underwater cables for a length of up to 52 km to the north wharf of the Port of Barletta, and then two terrestrial cable ducts, which will run along the existing road network up to the SSE di Andria (BT) for a length of 25 km.
