GE plans to invest $400 million over the next three to five years in development and deployment of the Haliade-X.GE Renewable Energy aims to supply its first nacelle for demonstration in 2019 and ship the first units in 2021. GE Renewable Energy and the Catapult have signed a five-year research and development agreement to test and develop the Haliade 12MW model and the Haliade 150 6MW model at ORE Catapults facility in Blyth, Northumberland. Nacelle weight = 685+42t frame ->727t lifting configuration, Tower in three parts - 315t+290t+232 t (27m+41m+43.6m). Tower diameter is 7.93m at base, 5.7m at top. GE models a 138m hub height, with given wind speeds at that height. In April 2021 GE secured Typhoon certification (Class T certification) from DNV.
